Errores Gramaticales Comunes en Inglés y Cómo Corregirlos

1. Uso incorrecto de "There, Their y They're"
Error:
Their is a cat on the roof. ❌
There going to the store. ❌
Corrección:
There se usa para referirse a un lugar o existencia: There is a cat on the roof. ✅
Their indica posesión: Their car is new. ✅
They're es la contracción de "they are": They're going to the store. ✅
2. Confusión entre "Your" y "You're"
Error:
Your going to love this movie. ❌
I like you’re idea. ❌
Corrección:
Your indica posesión: Your phone is ringing. ✅
You're es la contracción de "you are": You're my best friend. ✅
3. Falta de concordancia entre sujeto y verbo
Error:
She go to school every day. ❌
My friend like pizza. ❌
Corrección:
El verbo debe concordar con el sujeto: She goes to school every day. ✅
My friend likes pizza. ✅
4. Uso incorrecto de "Its" y "It's"
Error:
The dog wagged it’s tail. ❌
Its raining outside. ❌
Corrección:
It's es la contracción de "it is" o "it has": It's raining outside. ✅
Its indica posesión: The dog wagged its tail. ✅
5. Uso incorrecto del pasado en verbos irregulares
Error:
He goed to the store yesterday. ❌
She buyed a new dress. ❌
Corrección:
Algunos verbos irregulares no siguen la regla de agregar "-ed":
He went to the store yesterday. ✅
She bought a new dress. ✅
6. Uso incorrecto de "Me" y "I"
Error:
Me and my friend went to the park. ❌
She gave the book to I. ❌
Corrección:
I se usa como sujeto: My friend and I went to the park. ✅
Me se usa como objeto: She gave the book to me. ✅
7. Doble negación
Error:
I don’t know nothing about it. ❌
Corrección:
En inglés, las dobles negaciones se evitan: I don’t know anything about it. ✅
8. Uso incorrecto de "Than" y "Then"
Error:
She is taller then her brother. ❌
First we will eat, than we will go to the park. ❌
Corrección:
Than se usa para comparaciones: She is taller than her brother. ✅
Then se usa para secuencias de tiempo: First, we will eat; then, we will go to the park. ✅
9. Uso incorrecto de "Few" y "Less"
Error:
There are less people in the room today. ❌
Corrección:
Few se usa con sustantivos contables: There are fewer people in the room today. ✅
Less se usa con sustantivos incontables: There is less water in the glass. ✅
10. Confusión entre "Who" y "Whom"
Error:
Who did you give the book to? ❌
Corrección:
Who se usa como sujeto: Who is calling? ✅
Whom se usa como objeto: To whom did you give the book? ✅
